Bukha Waterfront Nears Completion: What This Means for Investment Opportunities in Oman’s Tourism Sector
BUKHA: The Bukha Waterfront Development Project in Musandam Governorate is nearing completion, currently standing at 95% finished. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the region’s tourism infrastructure and promote coastal tourism and leisure activities.
Spanning an area of 26,000 square meters, the project is aligned with government efforts to boost tourism facilities, improve public spaces, and utilize Musandam’s stunning coastal vistas.
Officials anticipate that this development will not only bolster economic activity but also enhance the quality of life for both residents and visitors, solidifying Bukha’s emerging status as a key tourist destination within the governorate.
Mohammed bin Saif al Jabri, Assistant Director-General of Musandam Municipality, stated that the project is designed to be a comprehensive tourism and recreational hub catering to both locals and visitors. He emphasized that the waterfront area is expected to draw in more tourists, stimulate commercial endeavors, and offer new venues for leisure, sports, and community events.
The waterfront features an 800-meter promenade with sea views, commercial kiosks, a boat rental service, a seafront restaurant, a children’s play area, water fountains, landscaped green spaces, and shaded seating areas. Additional service facilities have been integrated into the project to enhance visitor convenience and overall experience.
According to the Musandam Municipality, this waterfront initiative represents a substantial enhancement to the governorate’s tourism framework and is poised to improve the coastal area’s urban landscape.
Officials believe it will also provide opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises through the establishment of commercial facilities and tourism-related activities, thus fostering local entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the project is expected to increase visitor spending and stimulate domestic tourism, particularly as Musandam attracts travelers interested in nature, marine activities, and outdoor experiences.
Overall, the waterfront development is part of a larger effort to elevate Musandam’s tourism profile by merging the governorate’s natural attractions with modern amenities. Authorities anticipate that the project will become a central hub for tourism, leisure, and community engagement, supporting long-term economic and tourism growth in Bukha and the greater Musandam Governorate. — اونا
