Oman Invests RO 73.4 Million in Development Projects: Key Opportunities for Investors and Entrepreneurs
MUSCAT, JUNE 23 – Oman has finalized the award procedures for 35 development projects and service contracts amounting to RO 73.37 million. This initiative, driven by the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, encompasses significant works in road construction, healthcare, housing, and utilities.
The largest contract is valued at RO 15.6 million, aimed at completing remaining works on the Sultan Turki bin Said road. This includes parts of both the first and second phases of the project.
Additional notable awards include RO 6.99 million for the Al Qawri–Qurayyat–Wadi Mistal road in the Wilayat of Nakhal in South Al Batinah, and RO 4.84 million designated for the design and construction of a road linking Ibra and Dima Wa’Taiyyin in North Al Sharqiyah.
A significant portion of the contracts pertains to the health sector. These include RO 4.56 million for the operation and maintenance of equipment at Sultan Qaboos Hospital and affiliated health units in Dhofar, RO 3.89 million for similar services at Sur Hospital in South Al Sharqiyah, and over RO 2.05 million for the periodic maintenance of X-ray equipment at facilities operated by the Ministry of Health.
The housing sector is also being addressed, with RO 4.33 million awarded for the construction of 240 housing units in Sahl Hamran, Salalah. Moreover, RO 4.31 million has been allocated for the maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of aflaj and supporting wells across various governorates.
Other substantial projects include RO 4.24 million for the establishment of the Oman Genome Centre and Biocentre in Muscat, RO 4.12 million for work on the Sint–Wadi Al Aali road in Al Dakhiliyah, and RO 3.34 million for the construction of a library at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences.
Additional projects encompass RO 3 million for protective works in Muttrah, RO 1.56 million for supplementary works related to Al Zahrah Street in Suhar, RO 1.2 million for enhancements on the Al Fawaris Square project in Sur, and RO 1.17 million for developing and hosting a medical fitness examination system for the Ministry of Health.
The authority also awarded smaller contracts for facilities management at the National Museum, leasing spaces for the Consumer Protection Authority, waste collection services in Musandam, technical staffing for health facilities, tourism representation in the UK and Ireland, and consultancy for ports and coastal development.
These awards reflect the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure, public service initiatives, and local developmental projects across the Sultanate of Oman.
