OPAZ Partners with GOIC for Industrial Advisory Services: Boosting Business Opportunities in Oman
مسقط: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) has formalized a collaboration with the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) through a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed by Shaikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Chairman of OPAZ, and Ahmed bin Mohammed al Mohammed, CEO of GOIC.
This MoU establishes a framework for cooperation and the provision of consultancy services to businesses operating in economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities. It specifically focuses on advising the creation of specialized industrial clusters within the jurisdictions managed by OPAZ. Additionally, it seeks to utilize GOIC’s expertise to facilitate the transition to modern manufacturing technologies, enhance existing production lines, assist businesses in free zones and industrial cities, and train their workforce. The agreement also encompasses the exchange of industrial data, information, and economic feasibility studies for new projects.
Through this collaboration, both OPAZ and GOIC aim to promote the sustainability of projects within free zones and industrial cities. They will also evaluate potential investments to maximize benefits for small and medium-sized industrial enterprises, enhance their competitiveness, and connect them with larger projects.
OPAZ currently oversees 23 economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities, with 16 of these operational and seven under development. Industrial activities constitute the foundation of these zones, accounting for approximately 79% of the total investments.
