Oman-Belarus Investment Forum: Unlocking New Opportunities for Business Growth and Cross-Border Investment
MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will host the Oman-Belarus Business Forum on Thursday, April 2, aiming to boost bilateral trade and open new investment opportunities across key strategic sectors.
Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, emphasized that the forum represents a strategic effort to expand the Omani private sector’s global reach while strengthening economic relations with the Republic of Belarus. He noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in creating new cooperation channels and enhancing Oman’s presence in international markets.
The forum will gather business leaders, investors, and institutional representatives from both countries, providing a structured platform to explore commercially viable opportunities and establish long-term partnerships. Al Rawas underscored the Chamber’s commitment to empowering the private sector to leverage these engagements effectively.
A key element of the event will be bilateral meetings between companies, intended to convert dialogue into tangible projects. These interactions are expected to promote Omani export growth, enable knowledge exchange, and support Oman’s broader economic diversification goals.
The forum’s agenda covers a diverse range of sectors including food security, agriculture, engineering industries, furniture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, tourism, banking services, and logistics.
Participants will also benefit from presentations detailing investment opportunities in Oman, alongside insights from the Belarusian delegation on priority sectors and growth prospects. Discussions will address enhancing shipping connectivity and strengthening banking cooperation, particularly regarding payment systems between the two nations.
Additionally, targeted business-to-business meetings on the sidelines aim to stimulate new trade and investment partnerships, ultimately increasing bilateral trade volumes and reinforcing the economic relationship between Oman and Belarus. — ONA
