Vale Invests in Youth Innovation Centre in Al Batinah North: A Catalyst for Business Growth in Oman
MUSCAT: Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Oman’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Vale has announced a partnership with the Youth Centre to finance the construction of a new facility in the Al Batinah North Governorate, slated to open in 2029.
This agreement enhances Vale’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry to empower young Omanis through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The new centre, located in the Wilayat of Suhar, will be one of the most advanced youth development hubs in Oman, covering over 20,000 square metres.
The facility will include lecture and training halls, co-working spaces, and technology and multimedia labs. Innovative areas will feature a virtual-reality hall, sound and photography studios, and an e-gaming section. Additionally, it will cater to freelancers and small enterprises, creating a vibrant ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs.
“Development, for us at Vale, is a continuum that starts with industry but truly resonates through people,” said Nasser al Azri, CEO of Vale in Oman. “From our base in the Wilayat of Liwa, we have witnessed how industrial investments can generate opportunities, develop new skills, and strengthen communities. Supporting the Youth Centre in Al Batinah North ensures the value of our operations translates into knowledge, innovation, and empowerment for Omani youth.”
The centre’s development is expected to engage over 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), thereby creating job opportunities and fostering business growth in the region. Once operational, it will serve as a hub for creativity, learning, and collaboration, reinforcing Al Batinah North Governorate’s role as a dynamic centre for youth-led innovation and development.
