Abraj Expands Service Portfolio with New Contracts: What This Means for Investor Opportunities in Oman
MUSCAT: Abraj Energy Services has reinforced its position in Oman’s energy sector through a series of strategic agreements and new contracts announced during its participation in Oman Sustainability Week 2026 and the Oman Petroleum & Energy Exhibition & Conference 2026.
In a significant recognition of its commitment to sustainability and governance, Abraj received the Oman Sustainability Award – Platinum Award in the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) category. This prestigious accolade honors organizations that excel in sustainable practices and corporate responsibility.
The award highlights Abraj’s dedication to an operating model that balances economic performance, operational efficiency, and environmental and social responsibility. It also acknowledges the company’s role in supporting national talent and creating long-term value within Oman’s energy sector. Notably, this achievement coincides with Abraj’s 20th anniversary, marking two decades of contribution to the Sultanate’s energy industry.
Over the last twenty years, Abraj has been instrumental in executing well drilling operations and related services in challenging environments, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and sustainability. The company also prioritizes supporting local content and developing national expertise.
Eng. Saif bin Saeed al Hamami, CEO of Abraj Energy Services, stated that the company remains focused on evolving its services and strengthening strategic partnerships to align with regional and global energy sector transformations, particularly in sustainability, clean energy, and localization of specialized technologies and services.
Among the key announcements was a five-year well stabilization services contract with OQ Exploration and Production. Valued at approximately RO 13 million, this contract will utilize Abraj’s existing stabilization units in Blocks 60 and 48, commencing in the first half of 2026. This agreement significantly expands Abraj’s well stabilization service portfolio and enhances its capacity to deliver integrated, reliable services amid increasing exploration and production activities across various oil concessions in Oman.
The company also signed two contracts with Petrogas Rima and ARA Petroleum to support operational continuity and improve efficiency in oil fields. Abraj entered a strategic services agreement with PetroGas Rima to support operations within Petroleum Development Oman’s Block 6 concession in southern Oman. Additionally, a contract extension was secured with ARA Petroleum for the RIG 204 drilling rig.
In line with its expansion strategy, Abraj finalized two strategic partnerships with national companies to advance the transition to clean energy and promote localization within the energy sector. A partnership agreement with the National Gas Company (NGC) aims to explore the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a planned small LNG plant by NGC. This initiative is anticipated to reduce diesel consumption for power generation at Abraj’s units, supporting emission reductions, energy efficiency, and sustainability goals.
Furthermore, Abraj signed a strategic partnership with Imdaad Power to localize the manufacturing of specialized hydraulic fracturing materials. This initiative is expected to bolster local industrial capabilities and strengthen national supply chains in a critical sector related to well stimulation and the development of unconventional resources.
These developments underscore Abraj Energy Services’ ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and capacity building within Oman’s dynamic energy sector.
