Oman Air Launches Bahrain-Salalah Charter Service: Key Opportunities for Investors and Business Owners
Oman Air, in collaboration with its partner Discovery Travel, has announced the launch of a new charter flight service between Bahrain and Salalah, commencing July 10. The weekly flights will operate every Friday throughout the Khareef season, adding 1,134 seats to Dhofar’s visitor capacity to meet rising demand from the Bahraini market.
In response to increased travel during the peak season, Oman Air is also significantly boosting domestic capacity between Muscat and Salalah. Throughout July, the airline will operate an additional 60 flights, offering 11,766 extra seats on this route.
Ignacio Bosch, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Oman Air, stated, “Khareef continues to attract strong demand across the GCC, with Bahrain being a key source market for Salalah. By launching this charter service alongside increased domestic flights, we are enhancing travel flexibility while supporting Dhofar’s growth as a premier regional tourism destination.”
Husain Alekri, Managing Director at Discovery Travel, commented, “We are pleased to partner with Oman Air to introduce this direct Bahrain–Salalah charter during the Khareef season. Salalah remains one of the GCC’s top summer destinations, and this service offers travelers from Bahrain a convenient, non-stop option. We believe this initiative will strengthen tourism ties between Bahrain and Oman and make it easier for families and holidaymakers to enjoy Dhofar’s unique beauty.”
The new Bahrain-Salalah charter is part of Oman Air’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity to Salalah during the Khareef season. Along with these additional flights, the improvements provide greater flexibility for both domestic and regional travelers, ensuring smoother access to Dhofar during one of Oman’s busiest tourism periods.
