Muscat Awards Largest Glamping Hub Tender at Hawiyat Najm

Muscat Governorate has awarded the tender for an integrated glamping hub at Hawiyat Najm, with a daily capacity of 144 visitors.

Muscat Governorate, through Muscat Municipality, has awarded the tender for an integrated glamping hub at Hawiyat Najm in Wilayat Qurayyat. Oman Observer and Times of Oman both describe it as the largest project of its kind in Oman, covering half a million square metres.

Both reports give the glamping hub a daily capacity of 144 visitors. Oman Observer adds that the site is 120 km from Muscat International Airport and projects 300 jobs for local people.

The planned facilities include a glamping and caravan area, a park, smart information signs, an exhibition hall for local family products, cycling and walking paths, and sports and children's areas. Infrastructure includes solar panels, water recycling and desalination, and waste recycling.

Status

The award has been announced, but the reports do not name the contractor or a completion date. Oman Observer's figure of more than 5,000 daily visitors at peak times refers to the wider park, not to the 144-visitor glamping hub.
