Construction Starts on Coastal Tourism Project in Salalah

Work has begun on a coastal tourism project in Salalah led by Al Wathba Hospitality, with a hotel and marina planned in its first phase.

Work has started on a coastal tourism project in the Junuf area of Salalah. The developer is Al Wathba Hospitality, which signed a usufruct agreement with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in February 2025. During a site visit in July 2025, Oman Observer saw early works and land preparation.

Oerlive reports that the first phase is due within 30 months. It includes a five-star hotel with 124 guest units, a marina with restaurants and cafes, a beach club and a health club. Oman Observer calls the project "Boutique Hotel Salalah and Marina".

The reports do not agree on the cost. Oerlive gives an estimate of RO 80 million, while Oman Observer gives about RO 90 million. Treat both as unconfirmed until the developer publishes a figure.

The foundation stone was laid on 28 July 2025 by Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism at the ministry.

Status

I found no progress report after the 2025 coverage, so the completion date and the final cost are still unconfirmed.
